We become not a melting pot, but a beautiful mosaic. Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams.

Europe Day--9 May 2010!

This upcoming May 9th, 2010 Europe will celebrate another year of recognizing the formation of its contient.

Here is this year´s poster:

This day is also known as ¨Victory Day¨ because, the creation of a united Europe began shortly after this day. Countries such as France and Germany and many other European countries had nearly destroyed one another and their resources, but with the help of the Foreign Minister of France, they united in a way that didn´t seem possible. From that point on, their industrial sectors came together to start a union that would become the most powerful in the world.

It´s very important for children and parents to know the history of their own country but even more so to know the history and significance of their citizenship in the European Union.

Europe Day celebrates anything and everything that is Europe---the people, languages, food and customs from each country, although very different, make Europe everything that it is today.
